Sheltering In Place Day 0

Yesterday the Ontario Provincial Government announced that all publicly funded schools would be shut down for 3 weeks to assist in curtailing the spread of COVID-19. Today, 13th of March 2020 was the last day of school for our older children, and since our youngest’s daycare is situated in a School it was their last day too.
We are also in between houses as we have sold ours and bought a new one. We are currently living in my parents house during the transition (they’re in Florida hiding from winter). With 4 kids and 2 adults, to say that the next 3 weeks (or more) is going to be interesting is a huge understatement.
Yesterday after the announcement my wife and I made the decision to finally stock up on supplies. Since we aren’t actually in our own home and storage is limited here at my parents. We were hoping to be able to hold out for another week until we moved. Now boxes of diapers, wipes, paper towel and toilette paper (got lucky at Costco and Walmart) line the small hallway. The pantry is overflowing with non-perishables and the fridge and freezer are full. If all goes according to plan we should be able to hold out for 4 weeks. Only making quick jaunts to Smith’s to get fresh fruit and vegetables.
On the bright side we’ll have lots of help with packing, moving and unpacking. With plenty of time to settle into our new home. So stay tuned.
